Ah swimming, the most frustrating leg of the triathlon caper. Countless times you hear people say "I've worked so hard on my swim leg, and then I did a race and I was no faster". The Daddy has asked himself this same question over the years! It's probably been the last 3-4 years of doing the sport that he has seen some improvement and consistency in his swim times. Aidan is one of our club's experienced IRONMAN athletes, and he and Luke Ismail (past club president) flew to Hawaii to watch and support their great friend and fellow Nuna member, Meagan Harvey, compete in the world championships. When you speak to Aidan, he sells the holiday and race so well. He will inspire you all to either race, visit or support Hawaii in this following article.

This is a new addition to our Newsletter inspired by Nuna triathletes who are concerned with healthy eating, replenishing our bodies post exercise and fuelling the body pre-training. A lot of banter is made about coffee breaks on rides, and what cafes boast the best muffins/banana bread. So it seems fitting that we try sharing our food ideas monthly in the newsletter. Read more about our first submission from Samantha Todero.

Racing triathlon interstate or abroad demands the individual to be extremely organised, after all you have to prepare for three different sports on the one day. Add to that dismantling your bike, putting it on a plane, locating and settling into your accommodation, getting to know the area, and adapting to a new climate. It really is a lot to take on.
