Rumour has it that our Nuna MasterChef Melissa Quintal will take out the Club Best Banana Bread award. This competition will take place at the Barefoot Bowls Nuna Xmas Party on 11th December. If you think you've got the banana bread to win, bake it and bring it Sunday week. We will slice it up, and Colin "Jock" Blackley will taste test all participant's bread. He won't know who has baked each one as they will be anonymous, however he has insisted on tasting them with a coffee in hand.

Melissa has disclosed her recipes for the following delicacies that everyone enjoyed hoofing down after the first Gatorade Race this month. Enjoy!

Stricko's first half ironman is an interesting read. He smashed his goal of finishing in 6+ hours which is an awesome achievement for someone who has been in the sport for 2 years. Shepparton half ironman is a club favourite event and Stricko highly recommends it. We are sure to see more of him this season. I wonder what his next goal is.

If you love being scared half to death, a mountainous challenge and a view from the top, multiply that by 4, then think about 4 Peaks for next cup weekend. This event just keeps Ajax going back for more. You can run it, walk it, do one mountain or all 4! You won’t be disappointed by the views, the sense of comradery or the challenges.

Maree writes a personal account of the long term goal that her and Narelle Kear made to complete their first Olympic Distance Triathlon. The course is well described as she writes her step by step experience which includes other club members. It seems many members have signed up for the Noosa 2017 event as it is one of the best social races to participate in.

Ah swimming, the most frustrating leg of the triathlon caper. Countless times you hear people say "I've worked so hard on my swim leg, and then I did a race and I was no faster". The Daddy has asked himself this same question over the years! It's probably been the last 3-4 years of doing the sport that he has seen some improvement and consistency in his swim times. Read further to see his answer to this problem.

This is a new addition to our Newsletter inspired by Nuna triathletes who are concerned with healthy eating, replenishing our bodies post exercise and fuelling the body pre-training. A lot of banter is made about coffee breaks on rides, and what cafes boast the best muffins/banana bread. So it seems fitting that we try sharing our food ideas monthly in the newsletter. Read more about our first submission from Samantha Todero.

Racing triathlon interstate or abroad demands the individual to be extremely organised, after all you have to prepare for three different sports on the one day. Add to that dismantling your bike, putting it on a plane, locating and settling into your accommodation, getting to know the area, and adapting to a new climate. It really is a lot to take on. Here are Mack Daddy’s hand hints.
